What Poetry Does For Me
Unburden the heavy heart of pain
Exposes the hidden inner joy
Connects me to kin poets far away
Builds a relationship with people I know not
Attracts good intentioned critics of genuine heart
Keeps the mind constantly busy in poetry business
Dispels boredom to create active life
Speak to the world what they know not in my hut
Appreciate the work of others even better than mine
Brings to fore the ills of society
Constant self assessment to be in the right
Makes me a better person for a better society
Creates a happy and contented man of honour.
