When I See You Poem by Sharbaniranjan Kundu

When I See You

How listless I feel
when you ignore me.
As if my life has come to naught
after years of waiting
for just a little favor from you.
Your daughter is the only mission
of your life now,
whereas I have no mission
after having attained some recognition
in society and profession.
I just think and think and think
if I had swapped my accomplishments
with just you beside me
what more would I have got
and what would I have lost.
I can not decide.
I feel perched
the moment I see you.
Where do I go
from here to whither.
I just wither - wither away
in this dreary life.
