When I Was (Your) Alice Poem by Violetta Violetta

When I Was (Your) Alice

Rating: 4.6

You invited me for tea round your house
Hesitation...
but no trepidation

As would have been
had you the fire
to match my desire
all those moons ago

When I was (your) Alice

Remembering when and the reasons why you're not still together, a lifelong progression as we meet others along the way and relate in different ways together. Wonderful poem of remembering! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

A loss of fascination over time in a relationship once cherished and wholeheartedly desired, well depicted in the poem. Beautiful love poem, well articulated, nicely encapsulated and subtly penned from the heart with conviction. Love is a spiritual experience and voyage of bliss that affects one profoundly, especially when it's a mutual natural affinity. It is also whimsical and temperamental, appearing unannounced and may leave without warning, if not carefully nurtured at all time to maintain it bliss. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Violetta. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
