When I Woke Up Poem by Max D. Hornbogen

When I Woke Up

When I woke up, I found myself lying right next to you. Even the light was shining through my window.

But I was awake even before the sun could wake me up.
So I opened up the blinds, then the light shined into my eyes.

These clouds above have already taken shape, now here is what I say to the world.

Even theses blue sky’s can get me lost in my mind, don’t you see there is a lot to do with this fun of mine.

So when I woke up, I was half a sleep. But I got up, and then I took a look at heaven above.

I said, this is the best damn view that I ever seen.
This feeling is so good; it even puts a smile on my face.

Don’t you see that life is so amazing; I want to live a long time to see this sun going up & down.

But when I woke up, from the sun it felt so warm and welcoming.
All of my pain has gone with the wind, now there is no more pain
Underneath my skin.

There is not even an ounce of pain in me, don’t you see this smile is everything to me.

But when I open those blinds, the light will shine on me.
You know the view, will be so amazing.

Each & every night, I think of you. Just wondering where you are?

But I know that you are the star up by the moon.
