When Poets Cry. Poem by Sandra Feldman

When Poets Cry.

Rating: 5.0

Love lost is more
Than painful
In this ill,
And lonely world,
Love is sole
Consolation,
Life's greatest gift,
Deserved.

I loved you
More than life
Itself, words
That you never
Heard,
Regrated, my mistake
So many times!
Past regrets
So, very blurred.

And now,
I cry with tears
That can't be
Heard,
Because there is
No way
That I can find you,
Nor can I let you
Know
The way I feel.

When poets cry
There's something
That is tragic,
For only verse can
Transfer
Deepest pain
From life-long
Wounds
That in your heart
Make life, so hard
To accept,
That there are loves
That will not ever be,
The same, again.

Sandra, you have so honestly, beautifully and brilliantly expressed the therapeutic power of poetry. Poets, and other artistes, feel such an intensity of pain that can only be partially healed through their creative endeavours.

I cry with tears that cannot be heard.... beautifully poignant! Poetry is the true saviour of a heart that has suffered loss. Very moving words coming straight from the heart.
