Where The Children Play Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Where The Children Play

Somehow I knew it would end this way
There’s a dark shadow where the children once played
There was too much doubt within your mind
Too many questions and not enough time
Yes I lured you into a sticky situation
But honesty was my foremost consideration
The sun above doesn’t always shine
Sometimes the right way is the hardest to find
Somehow I knew it would end this way
There’s an overcast cloud where the children once played
I tried to express the frustrations in my mind
I look back and ponder at our struggle with time
You was totally aware of my situation
Yet you denied me the basic consideration
Sometimes an understanding isn’t simple to find
Sometimes the sun refuses to shine
It’s difficult to communicate when your soul is crying
Painful to laugh when inside your dying
There was too much doubt within your mind
Too many skeletons and not enough time
Sometime the sun refuses to shine
Sometimes what’s easy is difficult to find
Somehow I knew it would end this way
There’s an absence of laughter where the children once played
