Where Weeping Willows Cry Poem by Blakeney-rose Berry

Where Weeping Willows Cry

In the deep, dark woods, where weeping willows cry,
The gentleman heard a lament beneath the cold, dark sky,
Drawn to the mournful melody, he felt lost love's wistful sigh.

Moonlight wept through the canopy, and the wind whispered a lullaby,
To her ghostly beauty and allure, his heart could not deny,
In the deep, dark woods, where weeping willows cry.

Her form so beautiful, ethereal and fair, beneath the starry sky,
Eyes glowing blue deep as oceans, where lost dreams lie,
Drawn to her beautiful, sorrowful lullaby, he felt love's wistful sigh.

"Join me, " she sang and wept, "in death we'll forever lie,
In the realm beyond this world, our love will never die, "
In the deep, dark woods, where weeping willows cry.

Torn between life's pulse and her beautiful, haunting plea,
He chose love that was eternal, under the spectral tree,
Drawn to her sorrow, her beauty and song he felt love's wistful sigh.

Now, bound in love, they wander together, forever nigh,
Lost souls in twilight forests, where earth and spirits tie,
In the deep, dark woods, where weeping willows cry,
Drawn to their love song, beneath the eternal night sky.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Tales of love and loss have been told for ages, crossing different cultures and times. My recent poem, set in a mysterious forest, tells such a story. In this forest, weeping willows, symbolising sadness, are more than just trees. They set the mood for a tragic tale.
