While Calling It 'Love' Poem by Jim Boone

While Calling It 'Love'

Don’t move on me without caring
Or hold me before breaking my heart
Speaking of‘feelings’non existent
Promising ‘forever’ with your tongue
As your eyes check for an ‘Exit’

Don’t look deep in my eyes
And lie there as your pants
Turn to ashes on the floor
‘Because I want you so bad’
And I choose to believe you
At least until tomorrow
When the cock crows.

While calling it ‘lust’
I loved you like no one before
Knowing the moment was
All that we had and grateful
For the opportunity to please you

Life is fleeting: There’s childhood
And sex, and more sex and death

Then more life, another path,
A new scenario and so it
Comes, and so it goes
While searching for relevance
And calling it love. “Hello,
I love you, won’t you tell me your name.”
