Discovered a letter
Left long ago
Hidden in a drawer
Forgotten you know
You’d pledged your love to me
So all the world could see
That we were to be
Bound for eternity
Little did we know
That fate would show
Its whimsical head and
Would make me dread
Having been born
To live life forlorn
What illness is this
That turns health amiss
Leaving me longing
For your kiss
