Who am I? ...I am.
I am my Heart, I am my Soul
Unique, yet one with you I am;
I am Energy vibrating and even more:
I am the part which makes The Whole
And I myself, I am The Whole.
I am a frequency you reach,
Sometimes, yours with mine they interfere;
I am emotions on vocal pitch:
You feed on them, then I sense fear;
And when weak, absorbed of energy,
I lose touch with Love's Divinity.
Who am I? ...I am.
I am illusions in glimpses of Heaven,
When I cannot explain my overwhelm...I am!
Two Webs connected of fields and levels;
I am the Past, the Present, and the Future—
Constantly in the Universe of future.
Richard Beever makes an helpful comment below about the I OF THE EGO disappearing when questioned but otherwise always present in everyday life. That may be the reason this is such a knotty poem.What you are trying to grasp - the I of the ego, or self-identity - keeps slipping out of your grasp in this poem. You can't even find a provisional position which in a poem is usually quite accessible for us because we can just imagine what we want or need and it appears. That shows that a poem is a conscious dream but one controlled by the poet. In this poem the effort to dream a reality keeps getting interrupted. Which probably stems from your impatience for an answer to the question WHO AM I? Your psyche resists giving a single answer knowing you contain multitudes within anyone of which could answer but it would be woefully incomplete answer pretending to be complete... I just re-read the poem and I can now see you have made provisional statements of identity without claiming they answer the larger question WHO AM I? In fact, I like the energetic your conscious mind comes up with several possibilities I AM ILLUSIONS IN GLIMPSES OF HEAVEN; I AM ENERGY VIBRATING; I AM THE WHOLE. All true statements but you are seeking something beyond such statements. YOU ARE THE ONE DISSATISFIED. You are still searching when this poem ends
I have felt too this urge to find the I of the ego that disappears when questioned yet is all around when we engage in everyday life, an excellent poem Mihaela,10 out of 10
