Who's Counting The Days Left? Poem by Hebert Logerie

Who's Counting The Days Left?

Rating: 4.0

Who's counting the days left?
Everybody wants to see the new sheriff
Everybody wants to meet the new chief
Everybody wants to greet the new chef
Everybody abhors lies, deceit, theft and death
This is a new dawn, a brand new season
A new snowy spring in the freezing winter
Everybody is anxious to enjoy better weather
Now, the butterflies are competing against the light
Snow flurries. The wintry beauty will be out of sight
Everybody is counting the days. A new year is at the corner
Pretty soon, we will be counting the hours, the minutes
And then the jubilant crowds will party in the streets
It pays to be patient, humble, fair, and wise. Prayer
Is important. Dream is magnificent and hope wonderful
In silence, we are counting aggressively like a mad clock
We want the pendulum to swing faster, that's a serious fact
We are counting vociferously; we're running out of patience
We want to chase anybody or anything which makes no sense.
