Who Wouldn't Want To Be Among The Greatest Poets? Poem by Hebert Logerie

Who Wouldn't Want To Be Among The Greatest Poets?

The world has known innumerable talented Poets,
The ones who had the guts to stain the papers,
With style. The brave ones, the gutsy writers
Who did not fear death, the Kings, and their Puppets.

Yes, I can recite a few good ones: C. Baudelaire,
William Shakespeare, Victor Hugo, Aimé Césaire,
M.Angelou, Joyce Kilmer, Gaius Valerius Catullus,
Alfred de Musset, R. Frost, and Langston Hughes.

The aforementioned famous men and women belong
To the elite ones, however, I won't be incorrect or wrong
To say that they were not the best. Regardless, I love reading
Their thoughtful poems. They made words crawl, fight, and sing.

Regrettably, there exist silent and invisible poets, who never
Put words on paper; there exist poets who were not so blessed
To see the sun, the moon, the sea, the trees, the rivers, the crest
Of the hills, all the wonders of God. That was a divine endeavor.

Who wouldn't want to be among the greatest Poets, who wrote,
In many tongues, and in many other forms of expressions. Note
That it will take an eternity to cite those genial writers and scribes.
To honor them, read and appreciate their works with wits and vibes.
