Who Wants To Swim In Winter? Poem by Konstantin Ananin

Who Wants To Swim In Winter?

- Oh! I want to skate.
- Have you ever swum in winter here?
- Brrrr! What a question, Kate!
- You can sink. I want you to hear.
- I last swam four months ago,
‘To skate’ is not ‘to swim’.
- Take this stone and throw.
Have you thrown? It’s sunk, Tim.
- When I threw, it sank breaking the ice!
- You see the ice is too thin,
And you are heavier than ten mice.
So ‘to skate’ is ‘to sink’.
