So many times I pass by this place
As sun, rain storms and floods come and go
But, you are always here and want to stay
Why?
At a distance, I stand watching you
While you sleep in hunger and in pain.
With my bleeding heart the silence asks
Why?
In contrast, the sky high rise building
With sumptuous luxuries could taunt you
And here you are in solitude and I cry
Why?
Are you too proud to beg for holy help
As you ribs scream out for food’s sustenance.
Does a mental illness scare others, is this
Why?
If I had wings to fly and soar to heaven
I would plead and ask why you exist in poverty
In contrast to the building’s affluence
why?
