Why Don't We All Take A Look Around Us Poem by Naomi Waters

Why Don't We All Take A Look Around Us

Human beings are so incredibly impatient
They go about their lives in a great hurry
Constantly rushing from one event to another
Do they ever stop to think?
To just give a moment of their time to an unfortunate?
If they would value each other over gold and jewels
Then this world would be a far merrier place
Maybe one day people will see the destruction they are causing
By being blind and ignorant
Maybe they will all come together to heal the world
Maybe there is a chance for redemption
Until this happens I'll just keep hoping
I'll just keep dreaming
Of the good that exists in everyone

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
There is a line in this poem that references to a certain little film. I really hope someone notices it. Of course I changed it a little to fit the poem but for the most part I kept it the same.

We should all look around especially at nature.
