Why not see with eyes of wonder?
Why not be constantly open
To the beauty of the world
In so many ways and things?

Why not feel the blessing and miracle
Of so much of life?
Why not thank God for the births and the blessings,
And sense them everywhere?

Why always be in the gloom and doom
Of a cosmos too vast and too empty?
In Time stretching always to the end in nothing?

Why not be more with the joy of things
And in the gratitude for so much good given?
Why not hope more and despair less
And always be aware of the new light to come?
