Wicked Women Poem by Christan Bowen

Wicked Women

the watch was all that mattered
could be the heart that often shattered
she didn't care
as she sat and brushed her hair
many men dare to respond
but I have a wrist watch on
and she keeps time like no other
why would I need a lover?

and lovers lament so created
that time and dates they all just faded
and she would watch the people move
through a window, and sometimes do
this crazy dance and anguished smile
because she learned after a while
that men move on
to women
without wrist watches on
and these women fall for love and splender
not gold, diamonds or legal tender

and so she learned from this behavior
that love is life and requires labor
that she, the spider, and lesson taught
that the web she spun
was how she was caught
