From the wisdom of the old
This I was once told,
Watch and beware who you are with, isn't a myth
And always stay on the high road.
I found out that logic to be spiritual and true
And which until this day I still do,
The one on that road that we take, might be the first to forsake
So, let the Lord always travel with you.
If you want to cut back on stress
There's one thing you must do I profess,
Put your mind at ease, then the Devil can't tease
Then you're not his, you'll proudly confess.
Beware of who your companions might be
Into their souls you can't see,
You wanna believe their word, all that is heard
Which gives you hope and also glee.
Remember, if you ever loan anyone a dollar
And if it's not returned don't scream or holler,
If you're never paid back, be happy if you're in the black
And never be angry or a bawler.
I was told that from the wisdom of age
Always, be wary with who you help or engage,
Because they just might be liars, whose had many priors
And they are just a performer on the worlds stage.
