and this distance seems farther than earth from mars
every little thing I do, every smile is for you
I dream that eventually you'll come through

I love to be around you cause you light up my life
and whenever you talk about her it feels like a knife
I never knew the little moments would mean everything
and in my dreams I'd be the queen and you'd be the king

I love it when you text me first, knowing that you care
but I hate it when your eyes and hers meet in a stare
I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
just wishing on a star but I've stopped believing

you tore out my heart then walked away
left me there without making sure I'm okay
cause that's what best friends do nowadays
but you're not putting it out, only fanning the blaze

don't worry about me, I'll be fine right here
pretending not to care, playing it by ear
oh look, you're back to break my heart again
I know it'll be worse this time, all the pain times ten.
