With Both Feet Poem by Rick Elpers

With Both Feet

I struggle between two worlds
One born to me out of no choice
The other chosen
Both draw me to their reward
Both very enticing
Constantly at my heels
The pleading of the physical
Realm that I appear to be immersed
Holding me tight and steadfast
Yet the voice of God echoes
Through every circumstance
Subtle is this knocking
So quiet so silent
Drowned out by the noise
Of my senses I lose
The sensitivity of heart to Him
Even then the signs glare in my face
that I've to be patient
For the works are afoot
Wether I can see or not
Matters little
And when I awaken to my world
Searching for that connection
Grasping hands and my heart
Cling to every shred of hope
That Gods ear listens
To my silence
Keeping me
Safe
