Won't Take My Crown Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Won't Take My Crown

Won't take my crown
To be explicitly broke down
Won't take my spirit
To be afraid I am fearless
Won't take my rhythm
It comes with infinite wisdom
Won't take my soul
It's your ultimate of goals
Won't take my pride
It's what amplifies
The passion rolling off my tongue
You've seen my truth
And I wear it like cherished gold
You know this crown is the sun
Rays to blind almost anyone
It's the armor I wear in the war
Can not understand
How it defines me
Riches of the world
Stolen from this society
Can not understand
How it defines me
Center of the world
beautifully rich society
