Wondering Eyes Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Wondering Eyes

Wondering eyes
Show depth upon me
Travel within and seize
Come right in
This soul awaits your company

Do you see me now?
This truest form
Everything and all
Into the center
Of my whole

We are now
Where skin
For now, non-relevant
Everything based on true substance
There will never be any lies between us

Did you even try?
To look me in the eyes
Or are you too fixated on the outside?

At least combine in and out together
Before coming to a judgement
Of how I am perceived
In your most dire of shallow needs

Wondering eyes
Deep down
I know who you are
Never have I expected love
Just that I want you to see me
For whom I truly am
Far from being you

You changed drastically
This I feel
But you are not the first
Nor will be the last

Wondering eyes
Peeking into the mirror
I have found
That I have judged myself
As well
Our visions
Shared as one

Society, what have you done?
Try for once
To be soul assertive

Where do you think?
This will go from here

Wondering eyes
Please show depth upon us
As one

Warping eyes
Our journey has just begun

Who is truly in control?
Not you or I
Just fate
Taking us
Where we need to go

Wondering eyes
Warp speed
And never lose sight
As our souls
Learn to keep growing

For the request
Of my own heart's utopia
Take me away from my current self
I need change

These eyes
May they travel afar?

Onward towards new destinations
That has never been peaked
Peeking high with the visions of love

Wandering eyes
Show depth upon this love
