Worries And Truths Poem by David Thomas

Worries And Truths

here's to everything we never said,
you're as guilty as am i
and yet still we dare not speak our minds
or follow our hearts to their fullest,
because we are both cowards
Though of a different nature
we both retreat from friction,
you run i walk
i shut the doors and windows while you
let in the magnificent fresh air outside,
i love you
i love you
why couldn't it be so simple?
the same song on repeat
plays mirrors and memories in my head,
i know i've hurt you
and you've hurt me
can't we just make a truce
and start anew without forgetting?
i wish you and pray you
all the best things this world can offer
in hopes that you will never think of me
nor miss me or love me
and that you'll be so consumed by His ball of love
and his ball of trust
that you'll forget about this past of ours
and live happily ever after
Our cards are far different,
and while they could still end the same
i feel it would be rude of me to try,
and so i leave our future up to you
i loved you sweetie...
i love you so.
