Fingers poised over keys
Staring at a screen as blank as my mind
Words that once flowed free
Now come through wheels that stick and grind
In the other room one of my kids starts to scream
As I stand my frustration comes out in a sigh
I turn away from my attempt to write and dream
Because I'm so tired i just want to cry.

Poets do need a peaceful environment to think about and give vent to their thoughts and feelings through the nib of a pen or a computer keyboard.
    Your predicaments are well understood.
Please read my 'Biography Of A Poem' which is pertinent in this context. (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
