Writing In Purgatory
sometimes
writing
in Jakarta
Indonesia
is to fall
in a state
of purgatory
while writing
with speed
passion energy
without pause
expending
oneself in moments
heightened passion
minutes hours
can slip
by
without
a thought
of saving
work
then
wop
wham
damn
power
goes off
random
saving
forgotten
all effort lost
forever
retrieved
never
in a corrupt
nation
of demigod
officials
pocketing
maintenance
money
traditionally
fixing
nothi ng
lining
pockets
overseas
bank balances
with bribes
exalting
in corruption
powers
blow out
common
outages
in an
overloaded
grid system
where money
for maintenance
is siphoned
off into pockets
of corrupt officials
mammon worshipers
where a finger
a slimy finger
in an office tower
crashes power
to suburb victim
price stick'm
kicked'm
ticked'm
evict'm
outage day
make subscribers pay
steal away
to boast
power bills
by 25% plus
rogue roving
suburb selecting
power terminating
in January
through March
2010 dozens
dozens of poems
were lost this way
what can I say?
many many many
of these heavy
corrupt officials
after dying
will be crying
because Allah
detested their vile
corrupt greedy
power play
