Written Love Poem by Sandra Feldman

Written Love

We were like nail to flesh,
Inseparably, together,
I spoke, he did not,
But we understood each other,
More than not,
I loved him, and he loved me back,
With a love without words,
The one you can't forget,
The one, we can never regret.

We were like nail to flesh,
So when he was taken from me,
The pain, the rupture, the tear,
Was totally unbearable,
And still is,
My heart will never heal,
Time will never seal,
The moment of your departure,
So much of me went with you,
Death, the eternal archer.

I can at best echo Kelly's comment, and agree that the sincerity of your WRITTEN LOVE proves the real love was genuine. So much heartbreak in our human lives. An Elizabethan poet wrote, WE ARE NAILED TO THE EARTH WITH GRIEF. BUT THE DEGREE OF OUR GRIEF IS ALSO THE MEASURE OF OUR SOULS.

nail to flesh is such a wonderful comparison. As kelly hurt has said that only a few people are so fortunate to have such a kind of love...Thank you for sharing..

You have my deepest sympathies, Sandra. Very few are fortunate to have a love like that in a lifetime, which makes the loss that much more profound.
