Yellow Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Yellow

If you were asked how yellow compares
You would have to say it is a favorite
More delightful when it comes in pairs

Two sunny-side-up eggs staring with yolks
A marvelous breakfast to begin the day
A nutritious start for early rising folks

Yellow is the color of the breaking sun
Yellow is the color of fragrant daffodils
It is a color that can never be overdone

The jacket of a yellow banana protects
It has invisible zippers that reveal
A sweetness greater than you’d expect

Yellow hot peppers provoke an insane plight
Blazing a tongue; sending tears streaming
Caution is what yellow is on a traffic light

The radiance of brilliant yellow shouts
It carries sunbeams to growing things
It frees the weary mind of any doubts

The essense of yellow glows with a pleasant scent
It can wake you up and intensify your awareness
Without yellow... existence would be downward bent
