Yes, Amanda Is Not Haitian Poem by Hebert Logerie

Yes, Amanda Is Not Haitian

Amanda is African-American
Amanda is Afro-American
Amanda is Black American
Poet Amanda is American
Amanda, as I am, is not Haitian
Amanda is a gentle woman
Amanda appertains to all of us
Amanda belongs to the Universe
There exist many great Haitian poets and orators
Writers, actors, professionals, professors and singers
The world is proud of this young classy woman
One day, Amanda will write about her father
For now, Amanda was raised by a single mother
And assisted by her wonderful grandmother
The world is waiting to hear what Amanda's family
Has to reveal or to say about her ancestry
Everybody is talking about Amanda right now
Amanda is all over the internet, even the cow
Next door, is lauding, lowing and loving her name
Many young Haitian women exhibit the same
Style, ladylike behavior and good mannerism
That she possesses. Stop this nationalism
Thing. Amanda belongs to all of us
Amanda appertains to the Universe
Naomi Osaka is Japanese Haitian
Amanda will reveal her origin
To Naomi soon, and the world will know soon
Brothers and sisters, one day, we'll know by noon
Please be patient and stay tuned.
