You Poem by Christina Simmons

You

Happiness to me is laughing with you
Happiness to me is seeing a pleasing smile
While you stare at me
Happiness to me is looking in your eyes
Seeing a gleam of sunshine

Happiness to me is sharing
Quality time with you
Happiness to me is getting
Good safe hugs from you

It does matter for diamonds
To come into play
Not that I care much for designer clothes
Nor do I care much for Rolls-Royce
No speedy auto-mobile need do

Looking tall and strong
Permanently Everlasting
Handsome as a peacock - deliciously desirable
Sound enough for me

Smoothly sweetened with the taste of brown sugar
Just the way I like it
Bring yourself to me

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Words to this poem came to me following a walk through the park with a young man whom I admired a great deal - sadly he walked out of my life as suddenly as he came. This was in the summer of 1999.
