You And I, Adventurers Poem by Stephanie Spray

You And I, Adventurers

Love, the adventure
that takes you to a different plane.
It is the star
among the dark.
Exposure, without shame.
Tender is the pads
of your fingers traced
along my spine and
that cradle my face.
Delicate little petals
that pucker and pout
when you're upset.

My spoiled brat-prince.
Goodness, you make me
swoon.
The way your heart is so
pure,
and how we sleep into noon.
You are the highlight
to any essay,
and I will take notes
on your countless ways.
Forever in the notebook of
our love, lust and hopes.

You judge yourself too
quickly.
you know not of your beauty,
your extraterrestrial significance.
I'd give just about everything
to see that smile
spill across those lips.
I'd walk forever
to read your words.
To hear you laugh,
what I love you for.

Your story written on paper,
through pen.

Don't lose sight of
your adventures.

Let love
be your teacher.
