You Can Only Learn From Yesterday Poem by Francis Duggan

You Can Only Learn From Yesterday

Rating: 5.0

You can only learn from yesterday for yesterday has gone
And tomorrow is another day and time is ticking on
The past forever in the past the future is ahead
We can only live in the now as the wise one once said
The present is all that matter to the present I pen this rhyme
And tomorrow is not far away 'twill come in it's own time
The biological clock on every life is ticking ever fast
And all we have are memories and lessons of the past
Good memories we always cling to and the bad we want to forget
But for negative experiences of the past why waste time on regret
Upon our journey through life we learn every day
There is no gain without some pain as some do like to say
And you can only learn from yesterday for yesterday has gone
And the now is all that matters and the clock is ticking on.
