You Remember This?

Five years ago we were all shocked
what a disaster, our ratio was blocked

four dear children instantly died
I became very emotional, my heart at once died

They crossed the railway line in Oss in a bike van
the cute driver with the children all died then

that earliest morning on the way to school
all died immediately, the train driver must be a fool

early in the morning on television
showed me this most tragic action
Three of the dead kids have the same DNA

this was the most tragic event
for the diligently working parents
Do you remember that darkest day in the Netherlands then?

by the Dutch poetess
