you smother me in hugs
like a glass smothering out
a delicate candle flame
that is what you do to me

you haunt me in walks
like an obsessed ghost haunts
the things he once loved most

you drown me in affection
like a pool that drowns
the infant that is left alone

like an insane murder kills
the unknown innocent victim
