Zombie Chronicles Ch.5

You tried to scream for their aid
But a long drawn out moan did pervade
you finally see movement from the corner of your eye
you turn and look, what you witness is enough to make you cry

A man and a woman, out for a picnic
You’re too hungry to realize something about this doesn’t click
When they hear your horror movie like moan
They turn and see you crawling towards them, skin’s hanging from bone
The woman screams but the man runs to you and reaches out his hand asking if your alright
Then that smell rush’s up stronger than ever and you cant help yourself, you bite

The man shouts in pain
Blood pours out of his vein
And you’ve found the source of that smell
The coppery scent fills the air, the scent makes you crazier than hell
Suddenly your pumping adrenaline, stomach is in agony and inside something snaps
The scent and your hunger battling to control your mind, and then a complete synapse
You dig your teeth deeper and he screams even louder trying to pull away
The woman’s behind him backing up than walking forward, as if not sure whether to run or stay
The man jerks free but at the cost of a good hunk of flesh
You swallow the tissue whole, as if never tasting something so fresh
Then with all the adrenaline you jump to your feet and jump after him
He almost gets away but you grab his arm and bite down on it, tearing away you remove the limb
The man screams obscenities and tries to crawl away from your reach
A pathetic attempt, you grasp his ankle bite down and start sucking blood like a leech
Flailing around and screaming like a madman, he lands a kick upon your face
Though you hear a loud crack you feel nothing, all that you care about is that taste
Breaking free from your grasp the man gets up and starts limping away
You make that loud moaning sound again trying to tell him to stay

It was worth a try
But he probably doesn’t WANT to die
Somewhere behind you, you hear the woman yell
If not for your insanity you’d notice she's on a cell
Yelling things that wouldn’t make sense
“Subject gone hostile, permission to abort experiment” she says

“Thank you sir” she says as you turn to face her
The blood so thick in the air it drives you to run so fast she becomes a blur
Her eyes widen in surprise as she raises her firearm
You jump at her; she lets off two hasty shots in her alarm
One hits your shoulder and the other rips through your chest
You feel neither she sidesteps, you grab at her ripping off her vest
Noisily you groan with intolerant fury and glare at this lithe little meat sack
Taking advantage of your momentary pause she calmly raises her pistol and doesn’t hold back
She takes a breath and holds it; aiming at you she pulls the trigger
Two shots are fired from her pistol; she lowers her gun, than stands straight with rigor
You want to go after her again but your body simply falls to the ground
You hit the dirt with a loud crack, not able to move all that is left is sight and sound
All you can see is the soil and dried up leaves, but you can hear her behind you
The leaves crackle under her feet as she walks away, out of view
Minutes crawl by than you hear the armless mans voice
“No wait, please im still human I have a choice! ”
“I apologize for this inconvenience agent Page”
“No please! It didn’t bite me that bad, I won’t change! ”
A gunshot and the sound of a body falling on brittle leaves
She drags the body next to you, and you see her wipe off her sweat with her sleeves
“Subject exhibited enhanced velocity and aggression; subject came in contact with agent page”
“Subject has been terminated, also terminated the infected before it went into its second stage”
“Experiment has run unsuccessfully”
“Prepare subject 0002B”
