Caught In The Middle Poem by wild fire

I feel your touch but pull away
I see your eyes settle to confusion
and for some reason it makes me angry
I hate everything just leave me alone

The gravel spits as your truck leaves me
after school in the rear parking lot
dust flies and I cough as everyone leaves
When they're all gone he calls

Where are you? Let me come get you?
Why'd he leave you there? Are you okay?
I answer his questions by telling him i'm
fine and wanna be left alone

I can remember you trying to cuddle up to me
and i push the thought from my mind because
at the moment it makes me sick to my stomach
when I'm with you i want him and vice versa

I just need to be alone until the damn emotions
decide to leave me alone or sort themselves out
I lay in the grass on my stomach intending to cry
until I feel better.... I need to be alone and you both
need to stay away... so i can be free from the middle
