Promise to stand hand-in-hand forever?
Now our generation stands in isolation.
A kind of family of our invention.

Was I not enough?
Were we not in love?
Did it have to end?
Did you really think it’d never mend?

Degraded on every corner
Judged on every step
Hated on false pretensions
Love - a pitiful imitation

So many things have changed,
Our lives have rearranged.
Our relationship has broken apart,
No matter how hard we fought to make it stop.

Sometimes I wish...
That you could look at me
Without wanting to look away,
That you could stop acting like all between us was in vain.

The knife already put away
She is drowning in her misery
