It still shocks me
Everything was good
I hung up the phone
Felt so numb
...

Phone attached to my ear
As the snow fell softly on the ground
I wanted you here
But you’re nowhere to be found
...

3.

I waited on a hopeless ring
Living around the phone
By now I thought it wouldn’t sting
But I realize I’m alone
...

I know it was wrong
& that I went a little too far
But it’s been so long
& without you I’ve been fallin’ apart
...

Bedroom doors are closing
I’m hearing whispers in the dark
My emotions are bruising
As you slowly tear me apart
...

I woke up this morning
After a long, long night
You held me so close
You held me so tight
...

He always stood there with a smile on his face
Waiting for me to walk his way
Little does he know someone is about to take my place
I’m gonna get blown away
...

Well you’ve poisoned me with
Every venomous kiss
And I already know that
I’m the one you miss
...

The morning light is dancing on your face
You’re peacefully sleeping
Enticed in your dreams
And as I begin to trace
...

It’s been a while
Do you remember?
I was the one who made you smile
You’ve probably forgotten
...

Your face is everlasting in my mind
Got me drawing hearts all over my paper
I’d give anything to go back in time
Cause my hearts not the one you’re after
...

I was just thinking yesterday
How our world came crumbling down around us
And you threw me away
You pushed me down and it took a while to stand back up
...

I’ve had all this time to think
& we just aren’t meant to be
After all the lies you made me believe
There is no you and me
...

You're there but you're not here
I'm alone but you're not gone
You say you'll leave but you haven't left
You said you care but I'm still crying
...

Go ahead and say it
We both know we need to hear it
All this ain I'm going through
Just know that all of it is caused by you
...

Even though I heard your voice, it still made me cry
you're probably wondering why
I just feel as if I'm blind
I can only hear you
...

I set the bottle down on our nightstand
& I take my place on my side of the bed
Examining the ring on my left hand
I dial your number when recent memories dance in my head
...

Can we just forget about our mistakes?
I only needed one chance
To let go of my past
I only needed a single chance
...

We could pack our things
Or just leave everything
Let’s leave it all behind
Cause we’ve been waiting on this for the longest time
...

Standin’ here with you
Hand in hand
Before an ocean of blue
On that California sand
...

The Best Poem Of Courtney Casebolt

Called To Say Goodbye

It still shocks me
Everything was good
I hung up the phone
Felt so numb
As you brought on the misery
Why is our song singing
As your phone is ringing

Chorus
I called to say goodbye
You got me broken
Don’t worry I’ll be fine
Yea I know it’s the end
I just wanted to hear your voice one last time
Maybe you will change your mind
And I won’t have to finalize goodbye

You seemed a little shaken
Like your heart was breaking
Just like you
I coulda been faking
But how would you know?
You didn’t give us time to grow

Chorus

I waited and waited
Now I got you
Now I lost you
Anticipated and anticipated
Every word you said
Is playing in my head

Chorus x 2

I hung up the phone
Felt so numb
As you brought on the misery
