The Best Poem Of Daniel Cobb

Good Vs Evil

DARK:
'JUST LEAVE ME ALONE'
You think I'm hopeless?
Then you should burn me at the stake.
Why don't you take my life?
There's nothing else you can take.
Benefit of the doubt
Is something I can't live without!
I've come to the end of my pride;
I have nothing left to hide.

You tell me I'm worthless - useless;
What have I done to deserve this?
Maybe I can't do anything right;
I guess I'm just a parasite.
Some things are better-left unsaid,
But you blurt them out instead.
Some of the things you said were true,
Guess what? I've got feelings too!

Don't take it personally;
You take everything seriously.
I wish I could get in your head;
Your life could've been mine instead.
You said there was no hope for me;
At least I can admit it.
You've done things wrong to me;
At least I can forget it.

You drew first blood,
Left me lying in the mud.
You’re not gonna drag me down;
What goes around comes back around.
I might not be good with people,
But at least I can live with myself.
I don't pretend to be perfect,
Or flawless - like yourself.

'FALLEN WARRIORS'
Many men have fallen,
Warriors reduced to dust.
Smell each carcass rotting,
Armor starting to rust.
How did they fall?
Know this you must!
For soon you shall be tested;
It's because of lust!

Seeking wealth and power,
Great men have lost their minds!
What sort of seduction is this?
The most dangerous kind!
Pleasure has ensnared them;
Sharing the same bloodline,
They chose temporary treasure
Above the things divine.

What could be worse?
All creation is under a curse!
True freedom was forgotten,
And the light of truth was lost then.
Their hearts have been misled by lies;
Their minds are closed and crystallized.
And yet, there is still hope for them;
They may learn the truth again.

'WARRIOR WITHIN'
War is near!
Did you hear?
The time has come
To invade the kingdom!
Lift up your sword;
Defeat the dark lord!
Find the warrior within;
Let the battle begin!

Kill or be killed,
Blood will be spilled.
Just might makes right;
No truth in sight.
Your prey is near;
The scent is fresh.
So come and take
Your fill of flesh.

Now you must fight
With all your might
For what is right,
So hold on tight!
Welcome warrior,
Here to this place.
Death has a name;
Fear has a face.

'I HATE MY JOB'
Waking up each day with regret,
I go to a place that I hate.
I haven't learned my lesson yet;
Soon it will be too late.

I hate the way they treat me there;
So why do I take all their $#! +?
I know I would be happier
If I could just walk out and quit.

It's worth it when the day is done
To see her and to hold her hand.
She knows how to make me feel better,
And seems to understand.

Without her, I would lose it;
I wouldn't take their $#! + anymore.
She's my only reason for living;
I'll get through this like before.

'SAND CASTLE'
As castles crumble in the sand,
Lives are taken, understand.
Time takes its toll, washing away
Castles made of clay.

Even evil itself will be
Taken with waves of the sea.
The thought of how life used to be
Is nothing more than a memory.

This is the fate of all things fair;
For a moment, they are there.
How small a part of time they share,
But that's what makes them rare.

Time slips away like grains of sand;
And with the wind, it leaves my hand.
We come and go, just like the tide,
When the waves take us inside.

'GOING NOWHERE'
Help me write a new ending;
Please, I’m so tired of pretending.
The story of my life doesn't make much sense,
But I can't just sit here on this fence.

I still don't know my destiny;
What does the future hold for me?
It seems like I'm going somewhere,
But I'm not getting anywhere.

I guess I just grew up too fast,
And left my childhood in the past.
I wonder what life's all about,
Will I ever figure it out?

I thought I knew it all,
But pride comes before a fall.
In my own heart I must not trust,
For it is dead and led by lust.

'LOVE POTION'
Drink up, my love,
From this fine wine.
Feel it burn down your throat;
Soon you'll be mine.

This potion will make
Our connection more strong.
I've loved you forever;
It's been too long.

This poison will seep
Deep into your soul.
Your mind is no
Longer yours to control.

How can you deny
What you feel within?
I'll be your temptation
If you will be my sin.

'LIVING ON THE OUTSIDE'
Living on the outside,
Dying on the inside.
Laughing on the outside,
Crying on the inside.

Dancing in the darkness,
Hiding from my fear.
Dancing in the darkness,
When no one else is here.

Singing in the shadows,
Where no one else can hear;
Singing in the shadows,
Where no one sees my tear.

Kiss me in the moonlight,
Where no one else can see.
Hold me tight tonight,
If you really love me.

'PLAYING PUPPETS'
Life is not fair,
But I don't care.
Life is a mystery;
What is my destiny?

I feel just like a puppet
For the world to play with.
Another doll for it
To use and to have its way with.

Why do I feel so heartsick?
This has to be some sort of trick!
You just stood back and watched me fall;
You never really cared at all.

Is my heart just a toy?
How could this bring you joy?
What do you want from me?
Why can't you let me be?

'SLOWLY LOSING MY SOUL'
The nightmare nearly won;
I thought my life was done.
Wishing I were dead,
I live on instead.

What's happening to me?
This is not fair! Why me?
Slowly losing my soul,
I'll never be whole.

My life is such a mess;
It's like I live with stress.
It's getting so intense;
I can't stand the suspense.

Now no one remembers;
All I can see
Are these dying embers
Of who I used to be.

'THE VOICE OF FAILURE'
You can hear it,
Whispering in your ears.
For it's the voice
Of your darkest fears.

Its name is failure,
And it lives in us all.
So be careful before
You answer its call.

'There's no wrong choice, '
Or so they say,
But we make wrong
Decisions everyday.

It wants to make you feel
Like you're all alone.
Remember this warning, but
Don't fight it on your own.

'FRIEND OR FOE? '
This life is hard,
So stay on guard;
Or you will fail the test
Like all the rest.

You can't go back
For what you lack.
The past is gone;
Time to move on.

It's not too late
To change your fate.
You still have time
To cease your crime.

Look in the past,
As far back as you know;
You are your own
Best friend and foe.

'NOBODY CAN STOP ME'
Look at the blood,
Spilled by my sword;
Flows like a flood
From hell's dark horde.

I see a stream just ahead,
A bright crimson river of red.
A battle has begun;
I refuse to run - I fear no one.

Hear my battle cry;
You're about to die.
My heart is hollow,
Empty as an echo.

I'll face any foe,
Whoever it might be.
Fool, can't you see?
Nobody can stop me!

'I WON'T BACK DOWN'
Lets take it
To the limit!
If you want it,
Come and get it!

So bring it on;
I'll take you down!
This should be quick;
I won't back down!

I'm not a pawn;
My sword is drawn!
I'll find a way
To make you pay!

Now you will fall
Once and for all!
Soon you'll be dead;
Off with your head!

NEUTRAL:
'SILENT THUNDER'
Standing on a hill covered with white snow,
He peered down at the bright city below.
It was odd and so he looked around,
To examine this new exciting place he found.
He had lived a long life of pain and strife,
But was young and due credit.
Although he knew secrets that few dared too,
He could never just simply have said it.

He'd been dreaming of a future to be,
Something he couldn't, but wished he could see.
He wished he could find that invisible key,
But was trapped and didn't want to be.
You cannot believe the chaos he felt;
What in his mind could have possibly dwelt?
Now he was here, 'twas his unknown fear;
His echo soon rang out loud and clear.

He was on one side of a mirror, so small;
Through it lay what he had worked for in all.
He had seen something else in the mirror as well,
But whatever it was, too hard to tell.
He wanted to touch the future that gleamed,
But still, it was so much farther than it seemed.
Now was the present - he wasn't having fun,
For his journey was so far from done.

Soon he would somehow pass through that mirror,
Never to return from what he valued dearer.
His journey became stranger and queerer
As he came closer, getting nearer.
Then he would be happy and free;
Had he at last found that old key?
The true test was not rest, you see;
Or was it, after all, his terrible journey?

Why fight for fame? What can it claim?
If you do, you're a fool, for you alone rule.
The truth lasts forever; it cannot be bought,
But the path of pride is commonly fought.
If something causes you to sin, run away from it.
When the time comes, it will act as a pit.
Calmness or chaos? Which one do you choose?
If you have any sense, you simply can't lose.

Thoughts echo like thunder,
But to others, it's no more than just a wonder.
It's simple, yet difficult. So dead or alive,
Better to go down fighting than simply survive.
It's not what you take with you when you go;
But what you leave behind you - you know?
This world is not what we wish it could be;
After this life, we will finally be free.

'ABOUT THE AUTHOR'
When I first took my pen in hand,
I did not understand
The power of this little book
In which the minds of men would look.
It took a while for me to write,
My thoughts put down in black and white.
When I was done, I did not think
To show the world my pen and ink.

I only gave my very best,
For it would be put to the test,
Until at last it came to be
This story here, which you now see.
Maybe someday I'll find a way
To say the things I want to say.
There's more to me than meets the eye,
So let me show you why.

There is no tale as dark as mine,
But in the night, the truth shall shine.
If you seek it, then you will find,
And it will bring light to your mind.
Some said I should go ahead;
Others said I should wait instead.
At last I thought, since they were divided,
I would go forward - I decided.

Prophets used many metaphors,
To set forth truth to him who considers.
Nowhere does God forbid
The use of parables, where truth was hid.
Some say my words are strange and dark,
But they don't see and missed the mark
That this same book and its bright rays
Could turn black nights to days.

To you these secrets are revealed,
Though unto others they remain concealed.
For you must look by faith, if you would see
The hidden meaning of this mystery.
These riddles are for the one who strains,
But then receives double for all his pains.
My story is special - with a powerful plot;
I can guarantee you'll like it a lot!

'LONE WOLF'
I can't think straight;
It's hard to concentrate.
I carry the curse of creativity.
I bear the burden of bravery.
But my heart must be free to fly;
It burns with a need to know the reason why.
I've lost the dreams I held as dear,
Without even shedding a single tear.

I feel so rejected;
This is not what I expected.
I've spent my whole life waiting,
Patiently anticipating.
I'm alone - I will always be;
Nobody was made just for me.
I have no one to call my own,
But I don't like being alone.

It's difficult to say,
Which role in life I'm meant to play.
It's a burden to be a great genius;
You never see things the same, after this.
Anyone can get along during the good times;
During hardships, true heroes cross behind enemy lines.
Generals sometimes wish that they could be soldiers,
But conscience demands the older to be bolder.

If you're not quite this poetic,
There's no need to be apologetic.
Popular phrases and common clichés,
They can be used in such wonderful ways.
These things have come from my own head,
But words are dead until they are read.
So tired… I want to go to bed,
But I keep on writing instead.

'ALONE AGAIN'
All the battles I have fought,
Working at the speed of thought.
A writer's work is never done;
It might be hard, but it's still fun.

When I grow up, I want to be
Someone who sees things differently.
I wonder if I will be the one
To do things no one else has done.

I've been to brave new worlds,
Like a sailor lost at sea;
But when I get back home,
Who will remember me?

We are the actors;
Life is the stage.
With each new age,
I turn the page.

LIGHT:
'JUDGMENT DAY'
Though I have held my peace of old
You don't fear me, yet in your pride grow bold?
Wisdom will laugh at your destruction,
Because You failed to follow My instruction.
You shall all bow down to the slaughter,
For when I spoke, you did not hear.
When I called, you didn't answer,
Keeping My commands near.

I won't be silent or patient any longer,
Tolerating wickedness as it grows stronger.
Innocent blood keeps shouting to Me;
Righteous souls cry continually.
Why have you killed the prophets I sent?
Your path is bent - your nature is violent.
What right have you to declare My covenant
Seeing you hate wisdom and refuse to repent?

The proud man shall perish in his path;
The wicked man will wither in His wrath!
God clothed Himself with zeal like a cloak;
The mountains and seas trembled when He spoke.
If it's awful to come before a ruler of men,
How terrible to stand before the One who made him?
Kings and rulers who once possessed the earth
Will stand in shame and curse their day of birth.

God takes no pleasure when the wicked die,
But doesn't force them to choose truth or a lie.
It's not His will that any should perish,
But as His servants, children we must cherish.
A dark pit of torment will draw near;
Opposite it, a place of rest shall appear.
Nobody can pray for you on that day;
Each one has a personal debt to pay.

'HARD-HEARTED HYPOCRITES'
If God began a good work in you;
He will complete it, making all things new.
When on the verge of sin, turn back;
In times of plenty, remember poverty and lack.
We serve our leaders because they sound good,
Afraid to voice values when nobody else would.
For far too many, church dulls the pain of living,
Enough religion to make them immune to the real thing.

What fellowship hath light with darkness?
What does love have in common with lawlessness?
How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
Being slaves to sin had no lasting fruit in it!
Too cruel to care - too lustful to lament,
Too sinister to spare - too righteous to repent,
We complain, procrastinate, and mumble;
It seems we're too holy to be humble.

The time will come when men
Endure unsound doctrine from popular preachers,
According to their desires, and they will then
Only listen to like-minded teachers.
While they promise life and liberty,
They're bound to corruption and slavery.
Lawgivers judge for bribes - priests prophecy for pay;
Teachers err for money - yet say, 'the Lord is with us' anyway.

These people draw near me with their mouths and pray,
Honoring Me with tears, as if to obey,
They pretend to take delight in My way,
But they have hidden their hearts far away.
They're guilty of lying with lip-service,
While their hearts are temporarily out of service.
You make long prayers - the truth you sell;
How can this vicious brood of vipers escape the flames of hell?

'MIGHT MAKES RIGHT'
Our lost souls are in need of salvation;
Some hope for heaven - some embrace eternal damnation.
Casting off royal robes, we roll in rags;
Rarely do we realize sin's subtle price tags.
You don't even know where you came from;
Why haven't you considered what's yet to come?
You want to rule the world and crave to control,
But you weren't meant to play that role!

Money and power are great while they last,
But truth has remained for ages long past.
These treasures you can never keep,
Because beauty is only skin-deep.
Atheists agree that anatomy is destiny;
Who you are determines what you do daily.
Are we set free from the brain's chains
By spiritual growing pains?

As power is abused,
Knowledge can be misused.
They trust in technology,
Thinking it can set them free.
Life is full of hidden snares
For those who take what is not theirs.
They are caught in the grip of greed,
Taking things that they don't need.

A thought is a seed that you plant
Each time you say you can or can't.
With all their words, by pen and ink,
They try to change the way we think.
I don't have to do what you say;
This is my life and I'll live it my way!
Some live by faith and some by sight;
What makes them think that might makes right?

'PERSECUTED PROPHETS'
Rain falls on the just and the unjust;
It won't always be this way, but for now, it must.
We share the same sky - the same stars;
When the sun sets, so will this life of ours.
All flesh is grass, like the flower of the field;
God's Word eternal fruit will yield.
This hope we have - a faith we share;
And each breath is a cross we bear.

Faith doesn't live only one day;
You can't know God without a price to pay.
Life can't be all blessings or there'd be no need to pray;
Going through these trials might just be the only way.
If there were only sunshine, trees would die;
Oceans would become deserts, so dusty and dry.
There's no way to tell what the future might be,
So just trust in the truth and let it set you free.

It's better to suffer, if it's God's will,
For doing good rather than for an ill.
He's always been faithful and true;
He'll always be there for you.
If you come forth to serve the Lord,
Prepare yourself for temptation.
For all the things that you once adored
Will desire your damnation.

No trial or tribulation
Is beyond what we can bear.
God will give us the grace to face
Whatever we find there.
We're weak, yet we possess power
To glorify God with the work we do.
We're conquerors, but children;
How strange, though true.

'TEMPORARY TREASURE'
Time is a river
Flowing into an ocean;
It goes on forever,
Each moment in motion.
Time is circle that has no end;
It can't be broken, though it may bend.
Fragments of the future - pieces of the past;
They will come together and link at last.

Even the fool finds
Idleness a refuge for weak minds.
Easier said than done, it's true;
To put one's thoughts into action is a hard thing to do.
You can cause problems or help solve them,
Complain about what's wrong - resolve them.
Time waits for no one - how often will you say:
'I can't do it right now. I'll wait another day.'

You've arrived at Avalon;
So don't go back to Babylon.
Now that you've seen the vision,
Will you make the right decision?
We've each been dealt a deck of cards,
And now we have to pick and choose
Which ones to keep or discard;
In life, that's how you win or lose.

It's easier to speak of love,
Than bend your knees to God above.
Procrastination has its price;
To obey is better than sacrifice.
Because love without deeds
Is like worship without a sacrifice;
And prayer without action
Is like faith without works - it doesn't suffice.

'SPIRITUAL SLAVERY'
Little children are crying;
Innocent people are dying!
Wisdom’s words were wasted;
Fools leave truth un-tasted.
Held prisoner in captivity,
Will we silently allow this slavery?
How long will it be before we see
The big picture and face reality?

I feel so conflicted;
My mind and heart are convicted.
It's all for one and one for all;
United we stand - divided we fall.
Live in the light, not in the night,
Walking by faith instead of sight.
We have been called to take this light
Into a world where wrong seems right.

The enemy comes as a friend,
But he will betray you in the end.
Now you're trapped in this temptation;
It seems like there's no salvation.
The more you have, the more you crave;
To your own lust, you are a slave.
You seek new ways to feed your greed;
Is that the life you want to lead?

Is there any room left in your heart
For God, who formed it from the start?
Is your life filled with fear today?
Well, it doesn't have to be that way!
God hears each word we say,
And views all that we do;
If only we could see ourselves
The way angels in Heaven do.

'A SCRIPTURE A DAY'
A Scripture a day
Keeps the devil away.
We try to justify
Desires we should deny.
The Bible is a map;
It points out every trap.
HEAVEN and HELL;
We've still got Bibles to sell.

Just trust and obey;
There's no other way.
Practice what you preach;
Live the truth you teach.
Your strength is small,
But you gave it your all.
Give God your best,
Then trust Him for the rest.

Don't let other people
Say who you are.
They don't know who you can be;
They can't see that far.
The truth can hurt,
Learning from lessons past;
Pain keeps us alert,
But it won't last.

The Bible is bad for business;
It's not hard to find forgiveness.
You cannot go beyond His love
No matter what you're guilty of.
Satan shudders each time we speak
The name of Jesus to the weak;
First they listen, then they seek;
God gives might to the meek.

'PLEASE HEAR MY PRAYER'
It's up to me
To help them see.
My heart will bleed
For those in need.
How can I heal
The pain of those I do not feel?
I can't help the world outside
Until I'm free on the inside!

Creation has been crying
Ever since the fall;
My dreams are dying and I'm just trying
To understand it all.
Is there a heaven?
Is there a hell?
I'm afraid the answer
We know too well.

Please hear my prayer;
I know You're there.
Don't leave me here,
Lost in this fear.
I will try hard
To stay on guard;
And to you now,
I keep my vow.

I love you still,
And I always will.
Just take a look;
It's in a book.
What do you see?
Who’s the real me?
Can you show me
What I can’t see?

'PRECIOUS PRAYER'
In a place no one sees,
I fall down on my knees.
I pray to God, deep in my heart,
When my world starts falling apart.
There's power in prayer
Deep in my mind,
I'm searching for answers
That I can't find.

Eyes full of tears,
Precious prayers are unspoken;
Words whispered
By a heart that is broken.
Whenever I am worried
And drowning in despair,
I sit in silence
And go to God in prayer.

Pretend that you have no pride,
And live like you've already died.
Let love be your only guide
Across the sea of tears you've cried.
So come closer and don't be scared;
Don't worry if you aren't prepared.
Hope isn't hope if it can be seen;
Faith is believing things aren't as they seem.

I felt overwhelming pain,
Tears that I just couldn't explain.
Then sunlight broke through the rain,
And in His presence, my pride was slain.
When I saw God, I fell down at His feet;
His love beat in my heart and I could feel its heat.
My heart burst with a wail. I regret my foolishness;
My whole life was a tale about unfaithfulness.

'LET THERE BE LIGHT'
Sin came upon me
Adding to my despair;
Bringing me such sorrow,
Because no one's there.
I reach out my hand in the dark,
As tears run down my face.
I was left afraid and alone,
Imprisoned in this place.

Then I felt the air stir
Before the daylight dawned,
A small voice that told me
It's almost over, so hold on.
And then I remembered
Someone who never fails.
His heart is full of love;
His hands are scarred by nails.

I believe that tomorrow
Will be a brand-new start.
I lift my hands toward heaven,
With God's promise in my heart.
In this world of shifting shadows,
Hope to all men was given.
It only takes one simple prayer,
And your sins will be forgiven.

'WITNESSES OF THE WORD'
They lingered in Jerusalem until the Spirit came;
Offering supplication by the power of His name.
Jesus Christ's the Son of God. Men aren't righteous by the law.
Crowds watched with awe, believing what they saw.

As they laid their lives down, each won a crown;
They fought the good fight and brought the gates of Hell down.
They suffered a moment, but they'd each escape the torment;
Hands reached out as they came to repent.

As tears fell from their eyes, it was no surprise;
People cried out to God to help them see past the lies.
They did not love their lives, but lost them for a purpose;
Truth couldn't be held back as it surged up to the surface.

Love the Lord with all your heart - never let the fire part;
Don't lose faith or give in, but let the Spirit live within.
Through the blood of the Lamb, we can find peace;
Soon to be perfected, you are God's masterpiece.

'EYE OF THE STORM'
I've cried out in this cave for far too long,
Speculating about shadows that once belonged.
I'm supposed to step outside and stand apart this night,
But my eyes need a chance to adjust to sunlight.

I was full of foolish pride and trusted in myself;
I ignored God's plan for me - kept my Bible on the shelf.
Once I slept safe and sound, inside my comfort zone,
But waves of worries made me moan.

Suddenly, a storm blew all my dreams away;
Every problem circled around - each debt I had to pay.
Frustration, fear, and doubt drove me to the storm's eye;
Every failure and sorrow spewed me high into the sky.

Yet You never did forsake me or let me go;
Nothing could touch me in the center of it though.
Hell's hurricanes whirl wildly - anxiety in the air;
At the center of God's will, nothing touches you there.

'THE POWER OF PRAYER'
We don’t know what to pray for as we ought,
The Spirit makes intercession by translating each thought.
Be anxious for nothing, but with thanks and not demanding,
Let your request be made known in prayer, with understanding.

We don't have to wonder whether we'll win this war,
Though sometimes we've forgotten what we're fighting for.
We don't present our prayers because of our good deeds;
For Your name's sake, please meet all of our needs.

Trials are tests to see if your heart is true;
Don't let go of His hand until He blesses you.
God sadly watches you go on your way,
Patiently waiting for you to return again someday.

Whatever things you ask for in faith when you pray,
Believe you’ll receive and you'll have them someday.
If you stay in God's will and the Lord lives in you,
Ask what you wish - it shall be done for you.

'FINAL JUDGMENT'
The covenant you made with death
Won't come to pass - it shall not stand.
It will be blown away like a breath;
None of the wicked will understand.

God does not save with spear or sword;
The battle does not belong to us, but the Lord.
When we judge others and pass a verdict,
There's always something we can't possibly predict.

Wicked works and covenants - all shall be forgotten;
We shall not be known among so many boundless begotten!
We were born by mere chance, created by sole circumstance;
When we die, our spirit ceases its existence without sentence!

Woe to those who waste wealth un-righteously acquired,
Who claim to have all they could desire.
What will you do when you hear the prayers of the righteous?
Where can you go? How shall you flee from us?

'YOU ALONE ARE GOD'
You alone are God - there is no other;
Time has no father - nature has no mother.
Everything in existence shares this door;
There can't be any creations without a Creator.

Come, let's worship the Lord and bow down;
There before His throne, we'll cast our crowns.
No power we possess can we claim as our own;
We praise You for the mercy and grace you've shown.

For Your Spirit strikes like lightning;
Your throne trembles with truth, thundering.
From your Word, we've heard the faintest whisper
Of Your thundering truth and pulsating power.

For a moment, we felt forsaken and forgotten;
Those who trust in You shall not be put to shame then.
Please Lord, don't forsake the work of Your own hands;
Help us to keep all of your commands.

'MISSIONARY MAYHEM'
If you've partaken in spiritual things,
It's your duty to minister in material things.
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers few;
Pray for the Lord to send out YOU.

Fruitless missions are frustrating,
But it's better to work than keep waiting.
I'm not ashamed of the gospel I received,
For it's the power of salvation for all who believe.

Whatever you wish others to do unto you,
Do it unto them and then God will reward you.
Seek first the kingdom - righteousness pursue,
And then all these things shall be added unto you.

If life were all pleasure and I never knew pain,
I'd seek God less often and need Him in vain.
He allowed you to be empty to satisfy your soul;
He let your heart be broken so He could make it whole.

'A RIPPLE IN REALITY'
Each time you reach out to a heart,
You never only touch just one.
Silently, you will start
A wave of wonder that is never done.

We'll have to wait to determine our destiny;
God rarely lets us see ripples through reality.
You can't fully fathom what change will be;
All we do echoes through eternity.

Past, present, and future - He sees them all the same;
You leave this world each time you call His name.
God isn't limited by our laws, trapped in time as we are;
He asks us to leave the temporal realm we're stuck in and see far.

Creation labors in birth pains, groaning for transformation
For a new heaven and earth - righteousness in every nation.
The former heaven and earth shall not come to mind;
Forever rejoice in the new creation you find.

'THE VOICE OF WISDOM'
I haven't labored for myself alone,
But all who seek instruction to be shown.
I wish for wisdom more than all treasures and thrones,
Admiring appearances, lest I should lack the light she loans.

At first, wisdom will walk with you down perilous paths;
She will bring cowardice upon you in wrath.
Then later she returns and reveals hidden things,
Bringing rare riches fit for kings.

I sought her sincerely, ever since my youth;
I desired to take her for my bride, enamored of her truth.
I couldn't possess her unless God gave her to me;
I besought a blessing - blind, unable to see.

In everything, remember the end of your days;
Then you'll be wise and turn from the world’s ways.
Wisdom's harsh to hypocrites - weaklings let her go;
Those who find her gain great favor with God though.

'IDOLATRY ILLUSION'
Don't be envious of evildoers,
For when they die, they carry nothing away;
Don't be jealous of the rebellious,
For their infinite debt gold shall not pay.

Don't pursue every path;
Frustrated fortunetellers try to do that.
Don't seek out designs too difficult for you,
Nor attempt what's beyond your strength to do.

Riches rarely found free from sin,
Poverty is evil to ungodly opinion.
Few are concerned they are destined to die,
Though they know life is brief, but why?

They consider existence an idle game,
Like a festival held for profit, without shame.
Yet they, having knowledge, aren't to be excused;
How was it they first fell and became so confused?

'GENERATION GUARDIAN'
The battle goes on for daughters and sons; 0
The fighting is fierce for the soul of each one.
The light of truth is gone like a fading ember,
Like a forgotten flame no one will remember.

Your Word was shut up in my bones like a blazing fire;
I was weary of holding it back and couldn't deny my desire.
I press on to lay hold of that which God has gained for me,
Not counting myself having apprehended already.

I have made it my aim to preach the Word;
I don't want to build on another foundation.
I'll have to find a place that hasn't yet heard;
Showing no partiality or favoritism to any nation.

So be on your best behavior
If you are ready to serve the Savior.
We give no offense - in nothing we're framed,
So that our ministry may not be blamed.

'JUST CONFESS AND REPENT'
Before He leaves us, His glory shall pause;
Know that He has done nothing without cause.
Earth is His footstool - heaven is His throne;
God chose to live in our hearts and minds alone.

People are punished by the ways they sin;
Yet forgiveness is found, that they may turn around again.
God grants us time to learn from mistakes;
Will we act on the advantage that our temptation takes?

If only my ways were directed to obey and understand;
Then I wouldn't be ashamed when I consider Your commands.
Keep your servant separate from his secret sins;
Don't let them have dominion over me again.

Wasted time and energy is how you pay
Each time you try to do God's will your way.
Whoever covers his faults shall not have prosperity,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them finds mercy.

'TRUE TEST'
I closed the cover,
Some strange, peculiar power.
It has a hold on me. Opening it once more,
I turn the page to see what lies in store.

I search my soul for what is true,
To find the right path and then follow it through.
Of making many books there is no end;
Much study is tiresome to flesh, my friend.

The truth is trapped here in this cage;
Its power is petrified - put down on page.
Like the light of stars shining from an ancient age,
Their radiant rays release righteous rage.

For if, by some cruel twist of fate,
You learn the truth a bit too late,
You must not turn from what you see;
For it can set you free.

'TIMELESS TRUTH'
Truth is timeless and it can't be changed;
Reality can't be rearranged.
It has no beginning or end,
Like a circle we can't comprehend.

Truth never really dies;
When it's gone, all that's left is lies.
Try to trap it - it can't be found,
But it's always around.

Truth is perfect unity;
It's a heavenly harmony.
In darkness, there's division,
When you make the wrong decision.

At times, the truth can weigh a ton;
God's will is easier said than done!
Why don't we put it to the test;
Is it a lie like all the rest?

'CREATION TESTIFIES'
All of the pride in me has died;
The old guide has been crucified.
I don't know how, but now I'm free;
Let's see if you like the new me.

I've lost hope in temporary things,
The power of men and kings.
I seek the One of whom angels sing,
The light and life that He can bring.

After all the times I've let Him down,
God didn't just let me drown.
He's never given up on me, you see;
I'll be with Him for eternity.

The blood of Jesus took away our sin;
He died for us, let's live for Him.
Cast your crown before the throne;
The glory goes to God alone.

'ONE LIFE TO LOSE'
If I should keep sin near,
Then the Lord will not hear,
Though the lies have been told
And the trail has gone cold.

No excuse can cover my blame;
Christ's blood is all that I can claim.
He gave his life to pay the price;
Salvation comes by sacrifice.

You chose the cross - you took the nails;
Now I know why true love never fails.
To live is Christ - to die is gain;
To live a lie would be in vain.

I get one chance to choose;
There is no time to lose.
I have one life to live;
And it's all I can give.

'YET RETURN TO ME'
Fear not. I am with you - do not be dismayed;
You are My servant - I have not cast you away.
I've paid the price for you. I love you - don't you see?
I've broken chains of darkness and now you have been set free.

You'll speak My words so they can choose;
It isn't your concern whether they listen or refuse.
Unless you warn the wicked from his way,
He shall die in his sin, but his blood I will require of you that day.

Return to Me, for I have redeemed you;
You are my child and I love you.
I have helped you - called you by name;
You won't be hurt by flood or flame.

Though your sins are like scarlet,
I'll wash you white as snow.
Though you have played the harlot,
The truth you know.

'I'M PLAYING FOR KEEPS'
I don't find this very funny;
They can't buy me with money.
I'm not their property;
They don't own me.

To industry's idols I won't bow;
I'll move on, but I don't see how.
Keeping me out, they put up a fence;
It's an insult to my intelligence.

Our democracy is dollar-driven;
This is the day and age that we live in.
We must not trust in what we own,
For man shall not live by money alone.

The cost for security and acceptance we pay;
Group consensus and conformity control our thoughts today.
What tips the balance from failure to success?
The cars we drive - the clothes we wear - the stuff we possess?

'POISONOUS PHILOSOPHY'
Be wary of counsel,
Learning first their interest;
Taking thought of themselves,
They keep more than they invest.

Reducing life to religion,
Turning faith into tradition,
Society sets up 'NO U-TURN' signs,
Keeping us inside their limited lines.

Rejecting reality, the damage is done,
But other's opinions can't force anyone.
There are things worse than death, like betraying one's self;
No one can change your mind - you only hurt yourself.

Check your Bibles at the door;
Society doesn't want a spiritual war.
In the name of freedom, they enslave even more;
They don't want to hear the truth anymore.

'WORLDLY WISDOM'
Scientific speculation
Is often given the wrong interpretation.
Knowledge does not guarantee
Wisdom is applied accurately.

We are forced to be free;
It's a burdensome responsibility.
If only we could find a perfect pill
That would cause us to do God's will.

All around the world, we run the races,
Searching for truth in all the wrong places.
Men loved the darkness rather than the light;
For all who practice evil hide at night.

Our old theories are still subject to change;
With new evidence, they eventually rearrange.
Man's knowledge has surpassed his wisdom,
Tampering with forces beyond human comprehension.

'FAITH FACTOR'
If you can do the math, you'll find
Half a heart equals a divided mind.
For this whole world is full of hate;
The way of love is learned too late.

Life is the stage and we’re the actors;
God is a universal constant - an unchanging factor.
The calculations are complicated - it's true,
But in the end, you must decide what matters most to you.

Newton's Law of Inertia applies to our behavior;
We like to stay where we are instead of seeking a Savior.
You'll keep on going the same way unless an outside force acts;
Whether it's God's Spirit or the enemy's attacks.

If a man supposes he shall not receive,
He is double-minded and self-deceived.
If any lacks wisdom, let him ask in faith and without doubt,
For he who disbelieves is like a wave tossed about.

'DISCIPLE DILEMMA'
I know I've sinned - I had no choice;
I feared the crowds and obeyed their voice!
Is it too small a thing the Lord chose you,
Yet you pursue the priesthood too?

Leaders have great responsibility;
Perhaps some pretend accountability.
One who rules over men must be just,
In the fear of the Lord - not listening to lust.

The best kind of learning comes from within;
Direct thoughts with questions. Are you ready now? Let's begin!
Teach by demonstration instead of giving a lecture;
Present conflicts and solutions - carefully conjecture.

Many would-be leaders weren't willing to follow;
The darkness of deception made their hearts hollow.
The Lord took you from His fold, following His sheep
To be a leader and ruler - His flock to keep.

'FORSAKING EVERYTHING'
Sometimes dying is the only way to live;
Fixing problems can make more in the end.
Sometimes losing is the only way to win;
Your worst enemy can become your best friend.

When it feels like you aren't going anywhere at all;
That's when you're getting the farthest of all.
When it seems like your dreams are dying,
That's when you have to keep on trying.

If you feel weak, guess what? YOU ARE!
So trust in God, who makes little things go far.
The world has yet to see what God can do
With just one heart that's pure and true.

God is searching for dwelling places,
To live in our hearts and make us his own.
What's a prince without his princess?
What's a king without a throne?

'SCARRED SOULS'
Tonight, as I look up at the stars,
I wonder if time will ever take away my scars?
Some scars weren’t meant to heal,
Reminding us the past was real.

Every petal peeled away,
God give me the right words to say.
I’m naked and poor - so blind and weak;
So show me the thoughts I should speak.

So I lift up my soul;
I know that you can make it whole.
And at Your feet, I bow and fall;
Without You, I have no hope at all.

I'm nothing without You;
How could I ever doubt You?
You whisper in a quiet voice;
I come by my own choice.

'WORSHIP GOD IN WONDER'
In my heart, as I sing,
I can't stop worshipping.
You are the one true king,
Who rules over everything.

Angels dance in the sky,
Singing praises to the Most High.
Deep in my heart, I hear the sound
Of angels all around.

So I still pray
To this very day,
Giving God the glory;
He's the author of my story.

In the morning, as I pray,
My face turns pale;
Worshipping you with wonder,
Each time I exhale.

'CHANGING PLANET'
Biochemical reactions
Physiological attractions;
Even a small fraction
Could start a chain-reaction.

It's easy as ever to choose a side;
They come and go just like the tide,
With population constantly growing,
And time never slowing.

We've forgotten our history;
To some it's more like mythology.
As the world changes, we must also evolve;
There are some problems man will never solve.

The media is a mental monopoly,
Corrupting our culture gradually.
Their motives are misguided;
Everywhere examples are provided.

'DIVINE DESIGN'
Even if you don't feel Him,
God can still hear you call;
Just because you stumble,
It doesn't mean that you'll fall.

You are part of God's plan,
And His Word is not fake.
You’re who you are for a reason;
The Lord didn't make a mistake.

There is an explanation for everything; 1
Sometimes we can't see
The purpose of pain, the joy life brings,
The reason for reality.

When the road's rough and I can't go on alone,1
I cry to God in Heaven. He hears me from His throne.3
When I'm about to fall upon my face,0
I call to God and He lifts me up by His grace.

'SEED IN MY SOUL'
Refrain your voice from weeping,
And your eyes from troubled tears,
For your work will be rewarded
After these many long, hard years.

You've sown a seed - that's all you need;
It's small, but guard your heart from greed.
Wait and watch it begin to bloom;
You have to give it growing room.

Let us not grow weary while doing good,
For in due season, we shall reap, as we should.
Unless a wheat grain falls to the ground and dies,
It remains alone and never multiplies.

Hearts unfold like flowers,
When Your mercy showers.
We're the branches - You're the vine;
So turn this water into wine.

'TOMORROW IS TOO LATE'
God the Father sent His Son;
To pay for our sins, on the cross he hung!
So that from Hell you would be free,
And death would have no claim on me!

Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He's near;
Let fools forsake the truth and be bound,
And the unrighteous, godly fear.

Passing through this life not knowing
Where you're headed - where you're going?
Come to Christ now, just as you are;
Alone you won't get very far!

How could there be any hesitation?
Why would you want to wait?
Today is the Day of Salvation!
Tomorrow is too late!

'DEEP DOWN'
Faith helps you to go on,
When all your strength is gone.
There's a new life that you can receive,
The question is, do you believe?

However you might feel,
There's a God who is real.
He knows what's on the inside;
The thoughts of our hearts we can't hide.

Sometimes there's no simple answer;
God's voice often sounds like a whisper.
Look deep inside and see who's there;
You'll find the answer with a prayer.

And if your heart is true and pure,
Then you will know the way for sure.
And God will live His life in you,
If you just ask Him to.

'JUST TAKE A CHANCE'
You fell face-down onto the floor,
But kept getting up, coming back for more.
You were taught to fight - taught to win;
You never thought you'd lose again.

If you don't have the faith to fall,
You won’t accomplish anything at all.
Dreams can come true, if you make them.
Desires will rise too, if you wake them.

Anything can happen if you take a chance,
Though it might seem impossible at first glance.
Always remember - whatever you do,
Believe in yourself and your dreams will come true.

I never believed in what I couldn't see,
Or opened my mind to the possibility.
I never knew it could happen until it happened to me;
I didn't understand before, but now it's easy to see.

'FALSE FRIENDS'
It's so easy to get lonely;
I choose all my friends carefully.
Tough it's tempting to be accepted
Instead of being rejected.

They laugh at me and stare,
Like they don't care I'm there.
Who are they to tell me
That I'm less than what I should be?

Does no one care
Enough to say hello and smile?
Act like I'm important,
Having fake friends for a while.

This world is full of lust;
I don't know who to trust.
I want so badly to belong,
But loyalty only lasts so long.

'KINGDOMS RISE AND FALL'
How beautiful is the bride
Of the Son of God who died.
Kingdoms rise and nations fall;
You alone shall rule them all.

Yesterday, today, and forever the same;
Glory, honor, and power to your name.
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain;
Holy, holy, holy is His name.

Beyond a sea of time and space;
Heaven and earth part from their place.
The thought of it makes my heart race;
Lord, I just want to see Your face.

I dance to the songs of the saints;
Cherubim rejoice and celebrate.
Falling before your throne,
I'll worship you alone.

'THE ARMOR OF GOD'
Take and put on the armor of God;
For we do not wrestle against mere flesh and blood,
But rulers of darkness,
And spiritual sources of worldly wickedness.

The sword of truth cuts through all lies;
A blade of light, darkness defies.
No weapon that's fashioned against it shall stand;
When a noble warrior holds it in hand.

The Word of God is living and powerful,
Piercing all parts of the mind and soul.
It's the Sword of the Spirit - the Word of God,
It's sharp, slick, firm and broad.

It shall not be sent forth in vain
Until the sin within is slain.
Behold, it shall not return void
Until darkness is destroyed.

'BRIDGE OF FAITH'
Before today is done,
We have to count the cost.
It's in the heart the war is won,
And in the mind, the battle is lost.

Mirrors reflect the truth,
Overcoming the blackest night
Of those with innocence of youth
Who live by faith and not by sight.

From the black shadows of night,
Out of the darkness, there comes a light.
The bridge of faith still lies in wait,
So cross it now before it's too late.

A hero comes with a sword and shield
With truth and faith in hand,
Exposing evil as he cuts through
Lies in the land.

'WAKE UP AND SING'
The Creator is crying,
Because this world's dying.
Someday soon, he'll return;
The elements will burn.

Wake up and sing,
You who dwell in the dust;
The Lord is King,
And serve Him now you must.

Share in Christ's victory;
We have God's guarantee.
If you really want my advice,
Words alone don't suffice.

You'll shout with joyfulness;
Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Whoever walks the Highway of Holiness
Though a fool, he shall not go astray.

'A TIME BEFORE TIME'
I am nothing on my own,
So I fall before your throne.
Help me to understand;
I know I have to take your hand.

This may be my darkest hour;
I'll put my hope in a higher power.
Please hear this prayer I have to say;
I'm lost and I don't know the way.

Please light my path and guide my way;
And give me peace on this dark day.
Lord, lead me through this test;
Tell me which way is best.

Lord, I'm so lonely and empty;
You seem so far from me.
And yet, by faith, now I can see
You're living inside me.
