Kelly Zion Poems

Tiny hands reaching up
believing with all her little heart.
No one holds her, no one knows
no one sees the loneliness
...

Baby, you’re my Cowboy Baby,
and Baby, with a silver sword
take your heart and chain it to me
and dub me your cowgirl
...

Feed me catnip, lay on my dragon
throw my troubles down the cliff;
a thousand stories all used up;
highland plights, fairytales, and love
...

The flower girl threw flowers
until her wedding day
that day the only flowers
she threw was the bouquet.
...

A little girl
all alone on the beach
touches the sand
to build a fairytale.
...

You are what I'm looking for
Somewhere in these places
Life is what I haven't found
In any of these faces
...

Healing time, scarring lives
But then they heal someday?
Losing hope, finding pain
But then it goes away?
...

You ask the truth, 'And how are you? '
you feel my heart, why need you ask?
I tell you what
you tell me nothing
...

Baby, be my honey melon,
baby, be my cricket wings,
baby, in the springtime rain
sing me honey melon melodies.
...

Beneath the hollow chestnut tree
that grows broken heart-shaped leaves
grows the broken stump of a dream,
the broken, broken stump
...

I feel like the Light-Socket Man
when someone electrocutes me
you plug into the light socket
you cram this plug into my face.
...

I started our song today
because the music has almost gone away
how many songs will I replay
before the music dies?
...

A little girl dreamed of Suicide Beach
where she could let her dreams run free
away on the sand like Rainbow Dash,
where her spirit became a pony.
...

I've tried you know I've really tried
I've tried till I ran out of time
now Suicide, my only vice,
will you be my Valentine?
...

'Semi, won't you die for me? '
the asphalt called as the tornado screamed.
'Oh, I've been here for you all these years,
I've rescued you, now's your turn;
...

In the corner of your ceiling
when you are dreaming
they sleep in the shadows
hanging there like bats
...

When the city lights go out
and they take my artwork down
and the walls break apart because they don't know how
to live without
...

A gentle mountain scene
and a willow tree
a little piece of history,
part of life's mysteries
...

It doesn’t matter anyway
if it shines or if it rains
tomorrow's another day
we’ll just have to face
...

You could be walking in a shopping mall
with people everywhere
but they wouldn’t notice you at all
and if they did, wouldn’t care.

Tiny Hands

Tiny hands reaching up
believing with all her little heart.
No one holds her, no one knows
no one sees the loneliness
in those tiny hands.

Take her time, open her eyes
close yours more as she dies
no one tame her, bring her back
put another razor
in those tiny hands

My hands are grown now
way too big for these delicate wrists
I slice them and lean into this;

you'll never have to hold me now
you'll never have to show me how
man of man who brought me down
clean the blood off these tiles
and take back these tiny hands

Tiny hands reaching up
believing with all her broken heart.
No one holds her, no one knows
no one sees the loneliness
in those tiny hands

you'll never have to hold me now
you'll never have to show me how
man of man who brought me down
clean the blood off these tiles
and take back these tiny hands

that were never meant to be yours
and never meant to be mine
and never meant to be held.
