kitty came out of its sanctuary
basking besides shadowy tree
contemplating what she should
as the sun whispers its breath
through clouds full of raindrop;
sending ribbons through leaves
kitty licking her wet pretty paw
wary eyes scanning meadow
looking for shelter to crawl into
a siesta she always used to
there are pellets of pets' food
drying on the beach-board
