A day
That I’ll always remember
A very somber DAY
A very sad day
A day to ponder
A day to wonder
A day
Not like any other day
A very unusual day
A day to pray
A day to say
A day of madness
A day of sadness
Oh! my God
A very crazy day
A day to respect the Lord
A day of hell
A day to hail
The Almighty
With respect and dignity
A day of outrage
A day to be wise and sage
A day of extreme confusion
A day of ebullition
A day to love your neighbor
Your brother and sister
We are all related by blood
We are made of the same mud
Let’s love each other
Mourn and cry together
We should not be killing each other
Let’s shower each other with love
Think and dream of a better tomorrow
Flee the nightmare and the sorrow
Hope is still alive
We will survive, we will survive.
P.S. Dedicated to America.
It's Nigeria you mostly portrayed. Nigeria needs this message now.
I was watching TV here in the UK last night and they had a programme on the 7/11 atrocity. It was about the people who fell or jumped from the towers to escape an even worse death. It was a spell binding programme with photos of those who were falling. They named it 'The Falling Man'. One man in particular was represented, and somehow he capsulated the falling of all the others who were strickened with an impossible decision. Your poem has captured exactly what I was watching. So sad, so awful, so unbelievable, so tragic. An event that was alien to our world. An excellent write and very worth reading indeed. Love Ernestine XXX
So sad, painful and tragic. A great poem from you Sir, Worth reading it Thanks
You have captured this tragic moment in your poem. The disbelief of what happened that day. My heart goes out to all those people who died, but what really happened that day? What hit the pentagon? Why did so many building collapse when they were designed to withstand such a disaster? Many innocent people died that day but I am suspicious of America. I wonder if poetry can be above politics. Nice poem.10/10.
This is a beautiful piece that make us forget about the pieces and focus on peace.Welldone sir!
yes we will survive... and the United States of America will survive for every downfall, makes us stronger in will and in hope...9/11/2001 is the day that all citizen of America became heroes, a day when all humanity learned the evils of the devil and earned the light of God...9/11/2001 lives in our souls forever and will not be forgotten.. a great dedication.
Penned with ease, I'm sure your mind flowed like water while you were writing this, since it's not difficult to relate to. Yes, that day was a very sad day and I feel sorry for those people but I'm afraid I have to agree with Adi Cox. I'm not being racist or whatever but something fishy is definitely going on. Still, let us come together and unite our spirits and our hearts to reach a bright future destination...10.
I felt vividly the magnitude of this tragedy, right here on 42nd Street and 8th Avenue, in the heart of Times Square where I work, witnessing the first firetrucks rushing downtown to Wall Street and watching the skies filled with black smokes, it was very sad, a day in my life I will never forget, great work my friend, you got my vote, Love and Peace...

Let’s love each other Mourn and cry together We should not be killing each other Let’s shower each other with love Think and dream of a better tomorrow Yes, I agree; stop the war on people...read my poem Philosophy of War. It was extremely sad and traumatic day; 9/11...but war in many countries is like them living 9/11 day in day out....
