A gentle kiss planted carelessly upon my lips,
With that look in your eyes, I can easily tell it does not belong to me,
Your broken heart searching the loneliness for companionship, your eyes searching the dark for the spark of joy that once filled them with light,
Oh, how I wish I were the one you loved I would never have hurt you,
I would not send your heart out to weather the storm alone
However, for now I beg you do not kiss me like that, do not touch me in that way that melts my heart,
Do not take my love for granted if you cannot return my love release me so I can find the one that will
I would call it poetic prose. It needs review to be poetry. It lacks poetic form. Please tell me if you don't like what have said, I shall remove this comment.
Dear Brittney, That the lovely end of the poem. One has no right of love if he cannot truely love. Great thought. Thanks!
A careless kiss is a half-hearted kiss that certainly isn't the one a lover would long for and is easily distinguishable from a real one. This may happen when either of the couple takes the other's love for granted. A loving couple would always want that a kiss would be relished by both the partners. This has so nicely been portrayed in your poem. Well done!
Brittney, I loved your detailing, love can not be relished until it's heart to heart. I'm writing two lines in continuation of your poem on your behalf........... If you are to kiss me at all - kiss my heart you kiss my soul Then only you kiss my lips - kiss my all, winning my -heart and soul. Keep well Amitava
