A Good Son Poem by Vicky Biorseth

A Good Son

Forgive me for yelling-it probably wasn't necessary
Forget the years I drank-that would be a gift
Allow me to love you my way-that will make you sweet
Love me inspite of my flaws-that will make you tolerant
Love women inspite of themselves-this will make you a man
Work hard even if it is not your dream job-this will make you strong
Be patient with little children-this will make you kind
Do not tease-defend those who can not defend themselves-this will make you noble
Remember your God-this will make you smart
Remember your father-he is worth remembering
Remember your momma-this will make you A Good Son
