A Lazy Afternoon Poem by Orlando Belo

A Lazy Afternoon

Under a warm blue summer sky,
we lay on a thick carpet of grass.
Staring up at the white wispy clouds,
as they slowly drifted past.

We were lost entirely that afternoon
and had become a part of the day.
A warm breeze kissed our naked bodies,
which took us to a place so far away.

We were together blissfully lighter than air,
whilst the birds sang their beautiful song.
This was truly our vision of paradise,
as sure as this day was long.
