It's October now,
Said a man so calm.
He was sitting down,
And rubbed his palm.
I just finished saying,
How I'd had enough.
How I've been mistreated,
And how my life was tough.
Then he looked at me,
And shed a tear,
And told me how,
It's been a year.
A year since he,
Had lost his friend.
A special gal,
On who he could depend.
They had a fight,
And he didn't stay,
Then cancer came,
And took her away.
He didn't get,
A chance to say,
How sorry he was,
Before that day.
As I listened,
I began to cry.
I could see now,
That I didn't try.
I knew in my heart,
That I was wrong.
But my mind was stubborn,
And my pride was strong.
But I realize now,
That I played a part,
That led us to,
Our broken heart.
I said I'm sorry,
And gave her love.
She was now at peace,
Just like a dove.
Tomorrow may come,
But you never know.
The time is now,
If you want to grow.
It's October now,
I said today.
As I remember a man,
That showed me the way.
