A long, long sleep, a famous sleep
That makes no show for dawn
By strech of limb or stir of lid, -
An independent one.
Was ever idleness like this?
Within a hut of stone
To bask the centuries away
Nor once look up for noon?
....with a long, long sleep...I hope we enjoy a most pleasant dream ★
I suppose this is about death in Emily's usual skillful write...liked it- 10
Well, cripes, I was hoping she was writing about a deep sleep type sleep and I was eager to see how it was accomplished.... reading on I decided that that was not the kind of sleep I was ready to envy.! She was good at feint of pen! ! !
A beautiful poem on death. Loved it. Thanks for sharing.10+++
An observation that falls into an abysmal depth, when pondered upon. Death is a scary thought, of an unknown destination.
A vivid portrayal of death. Brilliantly crafted write.10
This is simply extraordinary about eternal sleep that today or tomorrow one is bound to experience......... Many many thanks Emily, we do really miss you a lot.......10++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
