A Lover’s Smile Poem by Peter Edwards

A Lover’s Smile

The crystal facets,
Glittered and shone,
In the clear light,
Colours and reflections,
Mesmerising the eye,
Drawn by some mystical land,
To spiral much deeper,
To venture into an unknown land,
Diffractions and scattered patterns,
Painting pictures, and stories,
That haunt my past,
And dreams of what is before me,
Enticing appetites,
Electrifying the very air,
Shining star bright,
Rejuvenating my mind,
Confusing the darkest night,
To stir the imagination,
With this enchanting sight,
Of a child,
So alive,
Encompassing all,
A lover’s smile.
