A Myriad Of Colors Poem by Juan Olivarez

A Myriad Of Colors

Black moonless night,
Black as a Stygian tomb.
Black impenetrable darkness.

Blue as a clear electric sky,
Blue as the northerly wind.
Blue as a mountain lake.

Red as a setting sun,
Red as a baby's cheeks.
Red as my true love's lips.

Green as the impenetrable forest,
Green as the Emerald Isle.
Green Irish eyes.

Yellow as my grandson's hair,
Yellow as the rising sun.
Yellow as precious gold.

White as the hair on my head,
White as the clouds that pass.
White swimming swans.
