A New Resolution To Conflicts Without Solution Poem by Aria Siren

A New Resolution To Conflicts Without Solution

I want people to acknowledge the broken parts
Without moving too close
Afraid they may touch something hurting
Or discover what I hide the most
Exposed

I want them to feel my every emotion
Without detracting from my mind
I want them to tread lightly
But still leave their footprints behind
A letter
Unsigned

I want them to hear my anger
But to forget the angry words I said
To see me as America's sweetheart
And to know that I want to play the rebel instead
Tough and misunderstood
Misread

I want shoulders to help carry my burdens
Words that fight the urge to compare
To another my problems are as light as feathers
But these steel wings can't lift me into the air
So try harder to
Care.
