A Shadow Poem by Sally Plumb Plumb

A Shadow

Rating: 5.0

Draw me in shadow.
The subtle darkness
that takes me down
towards the bottom
of that awful pit
of self annialation
and weighted spirit.

It is too feeble
to fight suppression,
and gains no foothold
with the conscious mind.

Compelling control of another's perspective- fascinating! Commanding to be drawn in a shadow! There is nothing 'feeble' about the way Sally's poem makes a shadow into the Director of another's representation of her. Then she's building staircases with them, alluding to 'foothold.' Very Strong Poem!

A poem that is less light hearted than Plumb Plumb's typical high charm; this is sadder, heavier and pulls one deep in as like is what is happening with the shadow drawing one in.
